Today mother nature was a lot kinder to all the bowlers on the green today with the 20 degree sun shining and swirly winds still present from yesterday. As for the bowls it was a roller coaster of up and downs for Dean and my quest to the top.

Dean's first game this morning was a match against Botswana's Andries Van der Walt. Andries started the match strong picking up a four on the opening end but Dean kept his persistence to make the score 5 all playing the fourth.

Andries maintained his consistency scoring 5 ends back to back to take the first set win 10-7 with Dean scoring a 2 on the last end. Into the second set Dean started strong, collecting a total of 6 shots in four ends. Going into the last end Dean had the advantage being two in front on the scoreboard but Botswana's champion gained two shots making the second set a tie, and resulting in Deans first loss in the tournament.

Redemption must has been in the back of Dean's mind going into the second match of the day against Clive McGreal (Isle of Man) with Elgar taking the first set comfortably with a 12-3 win, followed by winning the second set 8-7 on the last end.

The last match of the day was a line up against Hong Kong Chinas, Chadwick Chen. The game was a tough contest between the players but Hong Kong rose to the top wining both sets 7-9, 4-9.

My first round today was against Niue's Josephine Peyroux. Taking a strong lead early in the set loosened the nerves and resulted in a 12-2 win. Josephine started strongly in to the second, with a brilliant conversion shot on the first end picking up a strong 3. The blustery wind conditions worked in my favour being able to score a few multiples to take the second set win 13-5.

My last game of the day was against the 2015 World Champion of Champion Singles winner, Emma Saroji from Malaysia. Emma's outstanding draw bowls saw her take the first set 14-4. Into the second I got more into a stride and made Emma work a bit harder for the shots, resulting in Malaysia taking the second set narrowly with a 7-6 win.
