Kerry completed his term as CEO of Bowls NZ on 15th June 2017. He has been driving the sport, advising the Board since 1996. Kerry has been a volunteer for our sport from 1977 when he was a Councillor to the New Zealand Bowls Association representing Dunedin and Wellington Centres. Since then he has carried out many other roles for bowls in New Zealand and sustained work for World Bowls not only as a Director 2004 – 2012 but also as Chair of the Laws and Constitution Committee since 2004, a position he still holds today.
Kerry was awarded OBE for services to bowls in 1989 and we are thrilled that Kerry has been awarded the Companion of the Order (CNZM) in the 2017 Queen’s Birthday Honours. That is such a well deserved honour. The latest citation notes his services to bowls.
A full report on Kerry’s achievements will be included in the Annual Report 2016/2017.
The Board recorded its thanks and appreciation for the sterling work that Kerry has given to the sport of bowls for more than 40 years.
