Bowls New Zealand -National Assistant Coaches
Bowls New Zealand is calling for applications for coaches to assist the National Lead Coach and National Assistant Lead Coach with the Blackjacks National Squad, Team Coaching and coaching Individual players.
Bowls New Zealand is driving to achieve its strategic goal “To be the best in the World”. The National Assistant Coaches play a crucial role in the development of the athletes selected to represent New Zealand in Major International events.
Bowls New Zealand are looking to appoint two assistant coaches. They will be tasked with assisting the National Lead Coach and National Assistant Lead Coach in coaching and developing players at training camps and travelling with the National Team to International events. The appointment is initially for a 5 month period and includes the Trans-Tasman and Multi Nations events in the Gold Coast in June 2017. Thereafter a decision will be made for the next major event.
The coaching team under the guidance of the National Lead Coach is accountable for the achievement of the High Performance objectives:
- World Class Players
- “One Team” philosophy and culture
- A Performance culture based on a commitment to continuous development and improvement
- World Class coaches and programs
- Peak Performance at Major Events
- Becoming a source of ‘Pride’ for bowls in NZ
The assistant coaches will be required to report on individual player development following each squad or team event. They will be required to measure performance improvement and provide evidence of achieving performance objectives at all international competitions.
The role is vital to achieve our vision. Applicants are required to have had, as a minimum, playing and or coaching experience at a Centre level in the National Intercentre competition.
The time commitment is for the time the National Squad and/or team is together, and a contractual agreement will be developed based on this.
