End of day 1 – Boys section
With section ‘A’ still having 2 games to play and Section ‘B’, 1 game to play, opportunities are still there fro players to make the top two position in their group hence make the quarter finals.
Section 1A:
With 2 games to go Anthony Oullet (Gate Pa) has 5 wins, Caleb Hope (Gore) 4-1 and Max Nalder (Richmond) 4 wins are battling for the top 2 spots.
Section 2A:
Luke Sanders (Poverty Bay) 4-1, Daniel Jelfs (Rangiora) 4-1 and Finbar McGuigan (Plimmerton) 3-1 are fighting a close battle.
Section 1B:
Bradley Down (Victoria) 3-1, Seamus Curtin (Stokes Valley) 3-1, Jomty Horwell (Kaikorai) 2-2, Leighton Shanks (Kahutia) 2-2 are all vying in a very strong group.
Section 2B:
Brady Amer (Johnsonville) 4 wins, Tom Taiaroa (West End-Timaru) 3-1, James Cameron-Powell (Hutt) 3-1. Tom and James will meet each other last round of qualifying to decide who goes through to quarterfinals
