It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter McKechnie.  Peter has been a long standing member of the Auckland Bowls Board first joining as an independent member in 2011.  He then went on to become Vice President, President for two years and then back as an independent member.

His contribution to Auckland Bowls has been significant during this time and he will be missed.  Even with his health deteriorating in recent months Peter continued to be involved as an active member of the Board and as a member of the Rawhiti Fund Committee.

Peter first joined the Henderson Bowling Club in 1997, and went on to become President of that club and has continued his involvement with Henderson right through to this season.

Our thoughts are with Peter’s wife Shona, his family and friends.
